Support Hurricane Relief Efforts in North Carolina, “Christmas for the Mountains”
In late September, a devastating hurricane struck North Carolina, leaving families displaced and struggling to rebuild their lives. Many are still living in tents, relying on assistance while facing immense challenges. The frontline volunteers at Valley Hope Church in Swannanoa, NC, have been tirelessly serving these families for over two months, and there’s still so much to be done.
How We Can Help Together
Williams Tree Farm and Park City Church of Machesney Park are partnering to provide much-needed support to these dedicated frontline teams. Your prayers, love, and generous contributions can make a significant difference.
Upcoming Events & Ways to Contribute
1. Bake Sale – November 23-24
Thank you for a Successful Sale!!
All proceeds will support our service project to help the frontline servants at Valley Hope Church.
2. Christmas Meal & Stocking Delivery – December 16th
Christmas Meal: Serve a holiday meal for 250-400 people.
Stocking Delivery: Deliver 400 Christmas stockings with toys and gift cards for children & families
Decorating Valley Hope Church: Transform the grounds of the church into a festive Christmas Tree Lot where families and take a tree or wreath
Details for those considering going:
Dates: December 14-17
Travel:
- 10+ volunteers will drive or carpool in 2/3 vehicles (Passenger vans or SUVs) to Swannanoa, NC.
Will need to transport supplies, trees, wreaths
Departure: Early morning, December 14. Returning: Late Tuesday Evening
How You Can Help
We’re seeking donations of food, supplies, and volunteers to make this possible:

- 187.5 lbs of ham, 94 lbs of chicken- Donated!!
- Vegetables, cheese, soups, rolls, desserts (see full list below)
- Supplies:
- 500 plates, utensils, napkins, aluminum pans, Ziploc bags
- Gifts:
- Small toys for stockings and gift cards for families rebuilding their lives
- Volunteers:
- 6-10 (or more) Individuals willing to travel to North Carolina (Dec 14-17)
